Afropunk London 2016

Hey guys!

Hope you're well!

I feel like recently I keep getting messages and having discussions about pursuing my dreams

For I think the first time ever someone asked me...

What is your dream?

I know right?

Have you ever asked yourself that or even thought about it?

Do you dare to dream?

Food for thought.

Well as some of you know over the past weekend Afropunk finally came to London!

I have been waiting for this for a while so I was quick to get a ticket!

Here's the lowdown on my outfit deets...

What can I say I wasn't looking to go tame for Afropunk!

I originally had this lovely sequin top and thought this would be great for the festival!

So to step it up a level I got some fabric to match and got my DIY on!

And a visor because... well I'm cool like that ha

et voila!

Top and denim shirt: Vintage, Levi's from the East end thrift store,
Boots: Dr Martens, Visor: Primark, Rings: H&M

I just love the fact that people can come as they are with no judgement, they can be themselves, have an amazing time listening to amazing talent!

It's also a great platform for talented people in the community to show their gifts!

Here were some my fave performances of the day!

MNEK... vibes for days...sang my fave song of his "Never forget you"

The noisettes

Shame on me for forgetting how talented Shingai is... wow...her vocal range is serious.

Kwabs...my my my...I loved his album already, but if that wasn't enough, his voice live *faints*

SZA...nuff said really... in a realm of her own and shut it down!

My fave was most definitely Laura Mvula... wow...what an aura she radiates, a voice that brings you nothing but joy. What a pleasure it was to witness.

And last but not least...GRACE JONES.
Wow...from having the whole crowd meow to bringing out an exotic dancer I don't know where to start ha!

But boy has she still got it! She sounded amazing!
The woman is nearing 70. I think I need to take hula hooping like her.

Would defo recommend going next year!

And can we all take a moment to laugh at this please hahahha

Taking no prisoners for the 'gram ha

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Comment below on your thoughts!

God Bless
